High density polyethylene (HDPE) is a highly crystalline, non-polar thermoplastic resin. The appearance of the original HDPE is milky white, and it is translucent to a certain extent in the meager section. HDPE has excellent resistance to most domestic and industrial chemicals, the polymer is non-hygroscopic and has good water resistance to vapors, which can be used for packaging purposes. HDPE has good electrical properties, especially the high dielectric strength of the insulation, making it suitable for wire and cable. Medium to high molecular weight grades have excellent impact resistance at room temperature and even at low temperatures of -40F.
The unique characteristic of various grades of HDPE is the proper combination of four basic variables: density, molecular weight, molecular weight distribution and additives. Different catalysts are used to produce custom polymers with special properties. These variables are combined to produce HDPE grades for different uses; Achieve the best balance of performance.
Polypropylene (PP) is non-toxic, odorless, low density, strength, stiffness, hardness and heat resistance are better than low pressure polyethylene, can be used at about 100℃. It has good dielectric properties and high frequency insulation and is not affected by humidity, but becomes brittle at low temperature, is not wear-resistant, and is easy to age. Suitable for making general mechanical parts, corrosion-resistant parts and insulating parts. Common organic solvents such as acids and alkalis have little effect on it and can be used in eating utensils.
