The advantages of plastic pallets with steel pipes
Source: kuda  Time2025-09-26
The design of plastic pallets reinforced with steel pipes achieves performance breakthroughs through material composites. The high strength of steel pipes complements the lightweight properties of plastic. In a 1200×1000×150mm chevron-shaped pallet, embedding eight square steel pipes increases the static load capacity from 4 tons to 6 tons and boosts dynamic load by 50%. This structural innovation addresses the issue of pure plastic materials being prone to deformation under heavy machinery parts or metal products, while the meshed distribution of steel pipes effectively disperses localized pressure, preventing pallet breakage caused by stress concentration.
The advantages of plastic pallets with steel pipes
Compared to traditional wooden pallets prone to cracking or heavy metal pallets, the composite structure maintains the corrosion resistance of plastic while enhancing overall rigidity through a steel framework, ensuring structural stability in dynamic scenarios such as stacking and transportation. From practical application perspectives, the design of plastic pallets reinforced with steel pipes significantly improves logistics efficiency and safety. In automated high-rack warehouses, composite pallets can stably bear a 1-ton rack load and maintain structural integrity during high-frequency forklift operations, eliminating the risk of cargo sliding caused by deformation in traditional plastic pallets.

In the transportation process, the reinforced rigidity of steel pipes effectively suppresses cargo shifting during vehicle jolting, making it particularly suitable for long-distance transport of fragile items such as precision instruments. Additionally, this design excels in cold chain logistics—combining the low-temperature resistance of plastic substrates with the deformation resistance of steel pipes, it can withstand repeated stacking in -30°C environments, completely resolving the issue of wood pallets becoming brittle and cracked at low temperatures. For heavy goods like automotive components, the composite pallet's 6-ton static load capacity allows for higher single-load quantities, while its anti-slip surface design reduces transportation frequency and ensures safe loading and unloading.

From a long-term operational cost perspective, the design of plastic pallets with steel tubes, though requiring higher initial investment than standard plastic pallets, demonstrates significant overall benefits. The composite pallets have a service life 3-5 times that of traditional wooden pallets, and unlike wooden pallets, they eliminate the need for frequent replacement or anti-corrosion treatments, reducing long-term maintenance costs by over 60%. In terms of circularity, the modular design of steel tubes and plastic components allows for localized replacement—only damaged parts need to be replaced rather than scrapping the entire pallet. Additionally, this design aligns with the green logistics trend: the plastic components are recyclable, and the steel tubes can be reused, reducing waste generation by 90% compared to disposable wooden pallets.
