Selection and adaptability of flat plastic pallets

The flat tray adopts a completely enclosed solid panel design, with a smooth and pore free surface, and high integrity and stability. Grid trays form an open design through a cross grid structure, with regularly arranged hollow holes at the bottom and sides. The flat structure is more suitable for the transportation of small items or liquid containers, while the grid structure can effectively drain and ventilate, making it suitable for humid environments.
Load bearing performance
Flat pallets usually have better static load-bearing capacity than grid pallets (up to 4-6 tons) due to their uniform overall force distribution, making them particularly suitable for placing heavy equipment. Due to its structural weight reduction design, the grid tray has better dynamic load performance (about 1.5-3 tons), making it more labor-saving in frequent forklift handling scenarios. But the edge of the flat tray has stronger impact resistance and is less prone to node breakage in the grid structure.
Hygiene and Maintenance
The surface of the tablet is easy to clean and disinfect, meeting high hygiene standards such as food and medicine, but it is difficult to drain accumulated water. The self draining characteristics of the grid tray can prevent microbial growth, but debris may remain in the gaps of the grid and require high-pressure flushing. Both are resistant to acid and alkali corrosion, but the flat tray provides better protection against chemical splashes.
Cost and Applicable Scenarios
Flat pallets consume a lot of raw materials and are usually priced 10% -15% higher, making them suitable for precise stacking in automated three-dimensional warehouses. Lightweight grid trays (20% -30% lighter in weight) can reduce transportation costs and are commonly used in fields such as agricultural products and aquatic products that require ventilation. In special scenarios such as cold storage, grid trays can prevent icing and adhesion.
